Cygnet Rowing Club
Novice Altitude Camp, Chamonix, August 2005

We at Cygnet are blessed with a remarkable bunch of novices. Unfortunately their great idea of a squad training week during mid-August seemed badly timed to say the least. Then we saw the photos...

It started promisingly with high altitude bike rides...

Then there was timed ladder scaling...

Plus team building on long, strenuous hikes...

In the evenings the boys sat quietly thinking about catches and finishes, etc...

Then they stuck a carrot up Stu's arse and...

Three hundred and seventy one...

It's OK, I've only broken my left leg...

I'll teach you to get a better erg score than me...

And when we win our novice pots we can simply slide a Barnes Bridge Lady underneath us...

All the grace of a rutting moose...

Apparently they're energy drinks...

The boys completely fail to notice the pretty group of single girls standing at the bar...

Ah well - there's always next year...
