Boathouse update - 27th July

Thursday PM - 26th July

The main sewage pump, located in Riverside Drive on the entrance from the A316, has failed. There is an army of Thames Water vehicles and people digging up roads, pumping out sewage etc. trying to fix it. When asked, they do not have a timescale, but as can be seen if you drive along the road, there is a lot of activity happening.

What does this mean for us:Firstly, it means that the situation will not get any worse.Secondly, it means that if you are brave enough to go in, the ladies toilets can be used (as they never flooded).

I would suggest that rowing activities can continue, but with the understanding that the area is contaminated, it smells, and some parts of the boathouse cannot be used, like the men’s toilets / showers.

Thames Water have confirmed that they will undertake a cleanup operation once the fault is rectified
