LV Deneb Captain's Log

22nd August 2019

Dear Cygnets,

I hope everyone is doing well. Apologies for the delay.

We had a fabulous Weekend in Oxford City Regatta:

Saturday:
1x Open - Early Morning. Missed the win in his heat for 2/3 L. Fantastic race though, however I would never understand why the umpires don't warn you about the trees!
8+ made it into the Final where found a more experienced opposition and it was not to be.

Lunch Time Sprints - we lost against a young crew from University Utrecht

4+ - Our development crew noticed the effort of the morning but lost against the winner of the event.
1x - Good race but it was not to be, at the end 4L behind the winner of the event.

Saturday Night Fever: Pizza & Good Party in the Oxford City's Clubhouse 😉 - No pots but a lot of shots.

Sunday:
1x - Open Band 3.  Early Morning - after 20 strokes, realised was not a good idea to be drinking shots the night before
1x - Open Band 2. After 20 strokes, realised was really not a good idea to have been drinking shots the night before
8+ - Good race but stronger opposition. 2.5 lengths behind at the end

Lunch Mix Sprints with BBL - Good Fun! We made into the semis - we need to enter more of these ones.

4+ Made it to the Final - against 4length Cantabrigian Rowing Club
4x Made it to the Final - fantastic race - 1/2 length behind at the end after 3 crabs and finishing like started with(in 😉) the trees.

Summarising: Loads of racing (congratulations all), 3 finals, a few drinks for the soul, loads of dancing, loads of fun (check the pics in the social media), we will be there next year again...

Big Thank You to all for the great work! Fantastic team work since Thursday afternoon loading the trailer till Sunday eve de-loading under the rain, special mentions to the Drivers (Sarah P. and Tom B.).
