The Vets Lunch at Leander, 28th October 2006

From the Captain's Log, 30/10/06:

...of course I'm referring to the annual Vets Lunch at Leander on Saturday which was a great success with almost 70 sitting down to dinner, including an encouraging amount of active members (which we hid around the corner to avoid disturbing the general discourse). The food was exquisite, the company was entertaining, the drink was abundant and the Chairman was absent so copped a lot of abuse. Of course the highlight of the afternoon was my speech which must have been very entertaining because not one single person fell asleep. Result!

The happy throng prior to lunch...

The younger happy throng at lunch...

The older happy throng at Lunch...

The younger happy throng on the balcony after lunch...

It's speech time, head for the hills...

Of course we know who really runs the club...

Gentlemen NEVER reverse...

What are those ladies smiling at...

Is it me or do these two look a bit suspicious...

Always worth checking where Wyatt's concerned...

Neil begins to nod off during his own speech...

It's all go on table six...

So civilized, surely there must be something wrong...

And that, in a nutshell, is how you bleed a sump...
