Head Race Season Review

26th March 2024

Five races to tell you about in this season's big boat head races, although the first is not an official race...

Plum Puddings – 17th December

Cygnet had two boats in this annual festive race organised by Quintin (and strictly by invitation only) on 17th December. The traditional squad VIII was supplemented by a Cygnet Masters 4x. A great result for the quad which picked-up a second place – although the President won't let the squad hear the last of it!

Quintin Head – 20th January Crew #250
Although officially racing as Guildford, this composite contained 3 Cygnets in the Masters G/H 8+ Category. Finish position 257 in a time of 13.11.2

Hammersmith Head – 18th February Crew #37
Masters F/G/H 8. Finish position 7/10 in a time of 12.07.2 (Handicap 19 seconds, actual time 12.26.2)

Head of the River Race – 23rd March Crew #294
Open 8+. Finish position 279 (144 in Category) in a time of 21:04.3
Special mention to the Hon. Secretary, Dom Marshall who postponed his Birthday party to join the crew as last-minute substitution.

Vesta International Masters Head of the River Race – 24th March Crew #61
Cygnet Open Masters E 8+. Finish position in Category 20/21 in a time of 22.21.1

As always, fantastic to see our good friends from Ruder-Gesellschaft Benrath starting just one place ahead of the Cygnet Open Masters E 8+ (#60). Finish position in Category 16/21 in a time of 20.36.7

Thanks also to all those volunteers who gave up their time to allow all these great events to happen.
