"Big Malc" boat naming

As reported in the December Newsletter, the committee will renaming the latest edition to our fleet, a Janousek coxless IV,after Malcolm Burman, who passed away suddenly in September.

A contemporary of the Chairman from the Seventies, Big Malc was a dedicated clubman during his time at Cygnet. As well as rowing, Malcolm did a long stint as the club treasurer and remained a friend and supporter of the club, acting as one of our independent examiners for many years, until his untimely death last year.

A large contingent of Malcolm's family will be attending the boat naming. Please contact the Chairman or the captain by the end of next weekend (16th Jan) to confirm your attendance. Nibbles will be provided and doubtless some beer will be consumed! The captain will name a crew to do the row past.
