OK here they come. These first shots are of Henley Friday (1st July 2005). Things were still "fairly" civilised at this point. For example (and as far as I'm aware) only one very senior Cygnet had vomited up his entire lunch, Stuart hadn't snogged anyone (yet) and nobody had walked through a glass wall or lacerated their hand in pursuit of a beautiful, yet tantilisingly under-age, fraulein.

After a VERY heavy Friday at Henley we at Website Control were amazed by the numbers that turned up for Saturday's joint clubs regatta. Ironically the state of the rower on Friday seemed to be directionally proportional to how many pots they won on the Saturday. It does seem to be about power, efficiency AND alcohol percentage in the bloodstream too.
Pots, trophies, shields, beer, goblets, glasses, killerpiss - all to play for...
Boat control was a bloody shambles as far as we could see...
Selection headaches - you really can't please all the people all the time...
A "packed" "grandstand" "enjoys" the first "race" of the day...
These "athletes" are hung over...erm...individual and prepare in their own ways...

After the regatta the weak headed back to their hotels for a little schlafe whilst the strong put on their jackets and ties and Vaddled along the river to AK.

PROGRAMME OF EVENTS
Friday 1st July - All Day
Club day at Henley Royal Regatta, as the guests of Peter and Pat Sly, including picnic lunch.
Saturday 2nd July - From Midday
Joint Clubs Regatta featuring crews from Cygnet, Benrath and BBLRC in as many fiendish combinations as Mike's devious mind can muster. Events will be run in singles, quads, fours and eights over 1000m to the usual regatta rules and procedures, with engraved pewter pots for the winners of each event. The blue-riband event will be Benrath Vets vs Cygnet Vets (and we do mean Vets!).
Saturday 2nd July - Early Evening
Meet the captain in the boathouse bar from 5:30pm for Cygnet's first Vaddle (Eng. tr. "Waddle"). Please wear sensible shoes and bring £20 spending money.
Saturday 2nd July - Evening
"A bit of a party" at Auriol Kensington RC, Hammersmith. This is a ticket-only event which includes a welcome drink, hot buffet, music and dancing. Tickets will be £30 per head and availability is limited. Please contact David French or Marjorie Israel for more information and tickets. Dress code is blazer/tie for the gents and (fingers crossed) mini-skirts/plunging necklines for the girls. Extra kudos to those members wearing exactly the same outfit they wore at Henley the day before (including pants). Double-extra kudos if they are wearing exactly the same outfit someone else wore at Henley the day before (including pants).
Sunday 3rd July - All Day
