Good luck to our boys racing at Oxford City Royal tomorrow. We have an S34+ who's first race is at 14:22 and Chris J. races a straight final of C/D 1x at 17:05. Barnes bridge are racing in eights, fours & doubles. Good luck to them too.

Power Update, 17/08

From 50% of the boathouse captaincy:

Hi All,

Friday update on power = we are making good progress.

* The digger has started work and a channel has been made around the back of the gym
* A channel will have to be cut in the old steps at the back of the gym
* A channel is currently being dug down the emmanual side of the gym
* There electrical cable has been located at the corner of the gym
* A gas pipe has also been found and breached. the GAS IS CURRENTLY OFF
* An engineer to fix the gas is due at 14:30 today so we should have gas for the weekend.
* Monday / Tueday next a further channel will be dig down between the 2 boathouses
* Expect digging work to be completed by Tuesday
* Trying to arrange time for laying of new cable around Tuesday next week.

Next update Monday / Tuesday looking to give time for when electricians will re-lay the cable.

Received by our esteemed captain earlier today, sent by a young lady at Putney Town RC:

Please excuse this email out of the blue but the ladies squad at Putney Town were wondering if some of your chaps might like to meet up for drinks one evening? Suggested dates from the girls are either Saturday 31st August or Saturday 14th September. Venue tbc. Please let me know if this sounds fun. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Admittedly the blog hasn't been to the club for a while, but last time we looked none of the men looked "that" attractive. We'll keep 'em peeled!
