Captain's Log 14/05

14th May 2018

Weekend report

Another win for the meatheads at Borne Regatta in open 4+. A hard fought semi against IC Medics, followed by a more straightforward final against Twickenham. Thoughts now turn to higher level competition and the crew are trying to shoehorn Met Regatta into their busy diaries. Watch this space.

Other weekend results included a win for the Veterans' 8 against Thames novices by minus 5 lengths after a late DQ, and a hard fought defeat for the quad against some pesky kids from next door at Emanuel who went on to win the event. Cris sculled valiantly in his single scull against a big lad from TTRC, and the Veterans 4x raced a threeway handicap against MAA and Twickenham.

Congrats to BBL for wins in Mas.2x and Open 4x.

It was wonderful to see so many Cygnets down to celebrate the naming of our newest four/quad, Neil Jackson. Many thanks to Neil and Tim for the Chateau Jacquesson champagne which was very favourably received by all. And thanks too to the quadsquad for manning the BBQ all afternoon.
