Captain's Log 06/11

7th November 2017

Racing post:
Nick Rae competed at Henley Long Distance Sculls on Saturday. Coming in in a time of 14:22, 5th/6 in Tier 3 1x and beating a couple of scullers from Tier 2 as well, a creditable debut performance. Onwards and upwards to Scullers Head!

This Saturday, we have 2 crews entered in Vets Fours Head, race starts at 10:00 and the B.4x of Cris, Bjarne, Niall and Vasil is going off 5th. The Chairman's invitational F.4x is going off 94th. (Golder, Rhodri, Rawkins, Wylie)

Please also give a cheer to old cygnet Stefan Jurczak who has brought his crew from AZS-AWF Warszawa over to race, they go off 22nd.

BBLRC have a big flotilla entered, crews numbers are 138, 143, 148, 175, 212, 220, and composite representation in numbers 184 and 192.

On Sunday it's the Fours Head Of The River, starting at 10:45. The meatwagon of Gigi, Robin, Ian, Scott L and Sam go off 344 in T2.4+, and there is also a BBL quad to cheer for at number 146.

Housekeeping:
No formal water outings this weekend for the non-racing squad, but Kirsty will be down on Saturday morning to put the meatwagon through their final pre-race session.

For the non-racers, there is still other fitness work to do, so please come down for 8am both mornings (and stay to watch the racing afterwards)

Monday 3 x 6k erg
Tuesday weights
Wednesday erg 4 x 750m @ 5k pace, 4' rest.
Thursday weights (not for race crews), plus "Lamb Thing" for dinner
Friday off
