  • Road access to the Boathouse

    You may be aware that the traffic team is undertaking a number of emergency transport measures as part of the Councilís response to the Covid-19 crisis, more information on which can be found via the link below. The measures being undertaken are to improve public safety on our road network, prioritise sustainable and active travel and ensure that our residents can maintain social distancing while travelling around the borough. As part of this programme of work, the Council is closing the road though Dukes Meadows to traffic, at the point it passes under the railway bridge, where Dan Mason Drive meets The Promenade. This is to prioritise the safety of pedestrians and cyclists at a location where the road is narrow and visibility is poor, but also to ensure that there is enough space for those users to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
