Head Race Boating Request

This form is to be used to book all Head race boating, either from BBLRC or Cygnet RC, both of which are listed as options on BROE.

Emanuel School BC are only involved in boating for junior events, such as Schools Head. You should not select EMA as you host on BROE for any of the principal Tideway Head races.

No news is good news, so we will not contact you unless there is an issue with your booking: mostly this will be to let you know if you booked after we had announced full capacity.

Boating times will rarely be published more than 48hrs before a race – we are all volunteers after all. So please do not email for these.
We understand nevertheless that you need to plan travel, so here are a couple of rules of thumb:

• We are a large boating location (up to 60 crews for 8+ races, more for small boats races), with a not so large landing stage, so boating generally starts 90 minutes before the race (although in cold weather we make all effort to compress this)
• Given our location towards the tail end of the marshalling zones, the smaller your number (the earlier your start), the earlier you will need to boat, even more so if you are marshalling on the opposite (Surrey) side

Boating fees from BBLRC & Cygnet RC are payable by card or cash when you collect your numbers from the numbers desk outside the boat shop on race day. Your boating fee pays for numerous facilities that have to be provided, primarily the portable toilets. 

Sorry but BBLRC & Cygnet RC do not have sufficient space to accommodate crews or kit storage in the clubhouse or changing rooms.
