Cygnet Weekly Update

18th April 2017

Hi All,

Hope you all had a fab Easter. It was a select group at the club on Saturday and Sunday but we still achieved useful skills development. Four of the LTR came down for a bonus session with Alan and got out on the river for the first time. And there was some good sculling mileage for our novices from last year, with Barry, Niall and Bjarne getting to grips with quadich.

This weeks plans:

Tuesday 7pm Weights session. All those how have attend the previous sessions should have their programme from Tim.

Tim is available to instruct tomorrow if enough people can make it. Please update the spreadsheet and reply to me asap if you plan to attend.

No squad outing but if you are a signed off steer feel free to venture out. Sunset is at 8:02 so you need to be on and off the water promptly.

Thursday 7pm Squad erg tbc

LTR land session wtih Alan

Same rules for outings as Tuesday apply

Boat loading for Sculling Camp - many hands make like work!! Bring your rigger jigger

Friday Bungalow Row

To benefit from a flood tide to Teddington the pod will leave at 9am. Forecast is looking promising.

Please confirm to me by reply if you are doing it. It clearly has an impact on what boats we need to put on the trailer.

6pm Trailer unloading and boat rerigging at Weybridge Ladies

Sculling Camp

All squad training and coaching will be at the bungalow this weekend. And the LTR sessions will be based there too. Depending on the number of novice scullers, we will split the basic coaching into a morning and afternoon session. Let Charlie/Nick know if you have a preference. Everyone is welcome to attend all day, you learn a lot by watching and we need helpers to get boats on an off the water, hold the tethers etc. As well as putting everyone out in a single scull there will be opportunities to go out with experienced scullers in doubles and quads.

Saturday

Main Squad meet at bungalow at 7:30, OTW at 8am for coach session with Tim. This is important training for those racing at Chiswick Regatta the following week.
