XCVIII Deneb Captain's Log
8th June 2021
Dear Cygnets,
Hope everyone had a good weekend, is doing well and enjoying the good weather.
This weekend we went to our first event after almost two years. Peterborough on Sunday. It felt sooo nice to race again, good weather ideal conditions, great atmosphere, ice creams, but my goodness how long was 1 kilometre! In the we had a 4+ (Megan, Rupert, Cris, Matt B, Mustafa) and a 2x (Matt G, Ross), the double made it into the B Final and the 4+ won the C Final. In the afternoon we had a 4x ( Rupert, Matt G, Mustafa, Matt B) - and 2 singles (Ross and Cris) . Ross won the C Final. At the end: two C Final wins and one boat in the B Final, no pots but a lot of fun. (Check the social media for pictures)
Well done and Congratulations to everyone! Big Thank You to everyone who made it possible to be there, Megan for coxing, coaches (Beth & Charlie), volunteers loading/unloading the trailer, Sarah P for driving the boats there. We are on a good path and let's keep up the good work and let's aim for the next stop... Richmond.
