30th October 2019
Dear Cygnets,
I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Saturday:
Good first session on the water despite the strong wind, unfortunately the second outing couldn't go ahead, it merged with the LTR session in the shed/tank. (Thanks Laurent). It was followed by the Henley Lunch at Leander club. Nice venue, good food, lovely people. Good to see different generations of Cygnets, BBL, friends and family reunited. Many thanks to Stuart for organising the event; unfortunately the legendary Chairman's waddle down the river to the Flowerpot was cancelled due to bad weather, that didn't prevent us to have a "few" in Leander bar 'til the taxi arrived (Cheers!)Sunday:
Time Trial with BBL (Thanks Ladies, specially Beth for organizing). I don't have the times, but was good fun. Well done everyone!Safety:
After all the rain last week there is a lot of water coming down the Thames at the moment. The EA website gives the board status for each lock. Before any boats take to the water please check the board status for your reach and use your club risk assessment to determine if any boats are allowed out. http://riverconditions.environment-agency.gov.uk/ Hopefully the water will return to normal fairly quickly. Information about river levels can be found on the EA website https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levelsThis week training:
