Deneb Captain's Log XXXI
26th February 2019
Dear Cygnets,
I hope everyone had a fantastic "Spring" weekend!
Good rowing, on Saturday (I heard) first a 8+ with 7 rowing worked hard; next outing another 8+ with only 7 rowing had a technical outing in lovely sunshine. Thanks to our coxes, Laurent and Rupert. On Sunday (I heard this as well) a 4- and two singles went out. Good work was done in 4- , pieces , balancing pauses
and a few meters freestyle 😉 for some of the singles. Thank you Matt for steering.Thank you all who made it to the AGM, sorry I missed it. Congratulations to all elected Committee members!!!
Rowing
This week Saturday we have Hammersmith Head (1:00 PM), with one 8+ and one CYG/TSS composite. If you are not racing, please come down, cheer and give a hand if you can.

This week Training:
Tuesday:
Circuits : 19:15pm Cavendish School, Edensor Road, Chiswick W4 2RG. If you go direct to the school be there at 19:10. If you go via the club, people will be leaving there no later than 19.00.Can everyone please bring a towel and a drink to each session.Erg: 3x2km, 4' rest, R26 @ 5km splits
Conditioning circuit and stretchingWednesday:
Weights Core, warm up properly pair with someone who was there in the introduction focus on technique.Thursday:
Erg: 3x2km, 4' rest, R26 @ 5km splits or 3x5'5'5', R20-22-24; 5' rest, 30min R20 splits

Please update your availability onto Fitclub, so we can plan better the outings and possible racing combos. Don't forget Crew selection (and we are already training for Spring/Summer) will be based on Training (ergs, ergs score, attitude) and Availability. Hope everyone had a nice weekend !
Beautiful conditions for rowing Saturday and Sunday, hope everyone enjoyed it. Thanks Laurent for coxing on Saturday. Let's keep training 😊
Please update your availability through to the end of March onto Fitclub, so we can plan better the outings and possible racing combos, also please renew your BR- Memberships if they are due now, so you can race. Don't forget Crew selection (and we are already training for Spring/Summer) will be based on Training (ergs, ergs score, attitude) and Availability. Please consider every session as an opportunity to improve and get fitter.
Also we are looking for someone to drive the Cygnet-Launch for the following events.
• 2nd March - Hammersmith Head @1 pm • 15th March - Schools Head @ 12pm

Dear Cygnets,
Happy Monday! Hope everyone is doing well!
Good training session this Weekend! Saturday good work in an 8+ despite the strong wind, nice 40 min coached erg in the 2nd session. Sunday, better conditions, fast stream, we had a 4x, a 4- and a 2x. Also we have, 2 fresh signed steersmen ( Congrats Mustafa, Rupert for reaching Level 1). Let's keep improving !
Please load availability through to the end of March onto Fitclub, so we can work out racing crews, also please renew your BR- Memberships if they are due now, so you can race ;) .
This week, Social (as per Rupert's email) :
Tomorrow Tuesday 12th February, Cygnet 129th Birthday - good excuse to have a very informal, casual drink in Ye White Hart - but only after training!
Also, this Thursday , Matt B is cooking, please let him know if you are staying for Food after Training.
